Statement
I am an artist from Iasi, a colour person, who finds beauty and inspiration in chromatic associations. I like to take my inspiration from nature, from everyday life, always finding around me something beautiful to admire or a message that I think I should make visible. So, most of the time, my paintings start from colour associations that I fall in love with at first sight and that then outline my feelings on the canvas.
I start by making a few "doodles" in my sketchbook, using the colours that caught my eye, and then I start sketching something that makes me feel emotion. Most of the time, I don't visualize anything but colours at first, and the vision of the painting may come with them or it may come months later. My creative process is very much based on intuition, letting the brushes decide every move for me. As my main subject I prefer female beauty which I frame in a story, giving the painting not only aesthetic valence but also a message that the viewer can resonate with. Thus, within my works, I also include social themes, often suggested by the titles themselves. Predominantly I use acrylic and oil-based colours, but I don't limit myself to these, constantly experimenting with new materials such as pastels, sprays, charcoal or modelling paste.
Art came into my life without me even realizing it many years ago when I entered 5th grade. I consciously chose it during high school and since then my life has changed completely. I began to see the world differently, to enjoy the smallest things, to see every object, person or being down to the smallest detail. My perception of myself and what I can do changed completely and suddenly I found my purpose in life, feeling happiness every day. For me, the moment I create is as important as the moment I look for minutes at a cloud, a blade of grass or a raindrop left on the window. It's a moment when I feed my soul with shapes and colours, which it can later transform into art for others to admire.
